Michigan Farm Bureau's Family of Companies has an ongoing need for temporary office workers who are interested in working in our Home Office located in Lansing.
The Database Technician Temp position aims to ensure the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of the organization’s database systems.
This role involves maintaining database stability, first level of performance management, supporting data initialization and upgrade efforts,
troubleshooting issues, applying database security and access procedures, and collaborating with IT staff to support various projects.
The technician will play a crucial role in safeguarding data integrity and optimizing database functionality to meet the organization’s needs.
• Database Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, indexing, and performance tuning to ensure database efficiency and reliability.
• Data Inits/Migrations: Assist in migrating data between different databases or systems, or initializing lower environments, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve database issues, including connectivity problems, data corruption, and performance bottlenecks.
• Security Management: Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls and data encryption.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT staff, developers, and other stakeholders to support database-related projects and initiatives.
Required: General clerical skills, typing skills of 45 wpm, keyboarding skills of over 7000 kph with speed and accuracy, matching-sorting skills, mathematical aptitude, basic office skills including (spelling and proofreading), and possess a positive attitude.
Preferred: Previous office work with excellent customer service skills. The ability to learn quickly is beneficial.
