To provide efficient investigation, evaluation and negotiation of Michigan No-Fault and/or Workers’ Compensation (WC) claims.
Senior Medical Claims Representative Responsibilities
Review and advise of changes in statutory law, case law, and legal practice as it pertains to the handling of claims and management of litigation.
Monitor the performance of retained counsel in their handling of claims and provide advice within the company regarding the selection of attorneys to provide services for the company.
Develop professional relationships with attorneys, physicians and claims related professionals, both inside and outside the company.
Participate with defense counsel in court appearances, including depositions and trials.
Investigate claims timely and equitably. Manage litigation as assigned.
Senior Medical Claims Representative Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in business administration required.
Minimum five years medical claims handling experience required.
Must possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record. Designations in AIC, AINS and/or other insurance-related designation required.
Preferred
Background in handling SIU claims and functions, or the willingness to learn preferred.
Farm Bureau offers in office (Lansing, Michigan), flex, and remote working conditions from the state of Michigan. Experience level and resident location (within Michigan) are considered for Flex and Remote positions.
