Associate Life Customer Service Specialist Objective
To be an effective team member of the Life Customer Service Department. To provide customer service in a prompt and professional manner. To address policy and billing related questions and concerns from internal and external customers on all Life and Annuity lines of business via telephone and email. To process billing account changes, policy changes, distributions, and payments. To provide support and assist in maintaining departmental standards.
Associate Life Customer Service Specialist Responsibilities
Acquire and maintain knowledge of Farm Bureau’s Life and Annuity policy rules and guidelines of product contracts and their various endorsements and riders.
Answer telephone inquiries and process transactions on all life and annuity products from agents, insureds, and third parties effectively and efficiently. Take ownership of complaints and inquiries and proactively follow through to resolution.
Represent the company professionally in both knowledge and conduct. Gain and maintain advanced knowledge of both billing and products to process information, including changes, answering questions, and resolving problems. Ensure information regarding customer requests and complaints is provided accurately and efficiently. Provide answers or solutions in a clear and concise manner. Make reasoned decisions quickly and appropriately.
Participate in task, insurance, and telephone training as well as leadership and personal improvement courses. Use the Professional Telephone and Email Standards consistently and as defined by the company.
Associate Life Customer Service Specialist Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree preferred, with focus on insurance, business administration, finance, or management.
Minimum six months of experience in insurance processing required.
Experience or training in telephone and written communications required.
Experience in customer service activities required.
Willingness to pursue continuing job-related training and education required.
Completion of Customer Service training required. Designations in FLMI, CLU, FALU, LLIF or ChFC required, or actively being pursued.
Preferred
One-year professional office experience preferred.
Certification in LOMA FLMI Level I required. Bilingual skills preferred.
