Supervisor, Cost Accounting Objective
To lead and develop corporate expense budgeting and allocation of costs for Farm Bureau Mutual, Farm Bureau General, Farm Bureau Life and affiliates. To perform expense variance analysis and maintain and develop analysis reports as needed. To manage Personal Property Tax reporting. To review and analyze allocation of companies’ expenses by product lines of business. To lead special projects to meet accounting and reporting objectives.
Supervisor, Cost Accounting Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the preparation and completion of all Farm Bureau Insurance expense budgets. Develop an annual schedule and set up meetings to ensure budget is completed timely and accurately.
Deliver costing and allocation methods to affiliate companies who share in the cost of common functions.
Develop analysis to provide presentations of financial data and expense budget recommendations to support our corporate profitability goals.
Supervisor, Cost Accounting Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting or finance required.
Three to five years accounting experience required.
Preferred
Supervisory experience preferred.
CPA preferred.
Skillful use of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Access required; Great Plains skills preferred.
