OBJECTIVE

Lead Application Support Engineer Objective

To provide technical leadership and operational oversight for enterprise application support services. This role is responsible for ensuring stability, performance, and continuous improvement of business critical applications while serving as the primary technical escalation point for complex issues. To assist in managing the workload consistency and priority for application support analysts and administrators, as well as mentor and develop support staff in growing their familiarity and understanding of standards and best practices. Partners closely with IT and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and high-quality application support aligned with organizational objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Application Support Engineer Responsibilities

Provide advanced technical leadership and act as the primary escalation point for complex, high impact application incidents, outages, and performance issues.

 

Lead and coordinate incident, problems, and root cause analysis (RCA) activities to identify systemic issues and implement long term corrective and preventive solutions.

 

Ensure application support services consistently meet or exceed established service level agreements (SLAs) and operational performance targets.

 

Mentor, coach, and develop application support team members by pro

viding technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and professional development opportunities.

 

Establish, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical standards, and best practices to ensure consistent, efficient, and high quality support delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

Lead Application Support Engineer Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or related field is required, or equivalent work experience may be considered.

 

Eight years or more of progressively responsible experience in application support, system administration, application development, or related technical disciplines supporting enterprise applications required.

 

Two or more system administrator certifications required (Salesforce, Guidewire, Garvin-Allen, Profisee, etc.) or equivalent hands‑on experience supporting comparable enterprise platforms.

 

Three or more years of technology leadership experience in a property/casualty or life insurance company required.

 

Willingness to pursue continuing job-related training and education in technology and insurance required.

 

Designations in AINS, FLMI or AIDM preferred, or actively being pursued.
